Suya holds a PhD in Navigation and Satellite Positioning from the University of Nottingham. He also holds an MSc in Geodesy and Engineering Surveying from the same university. Suya is a Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) enthusiast and a geodesist who specialises in utilising GNSS and satellite observations for Earth observation. His research focuses on advancing robust Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) techniques through GNSS signals, with a strong emphasis on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning into GNSS applications. Currently, his work centres on high-precision GNSS and AI for environmental monitoring and related Earth system applications.

He has been recognised as one of the Best Reviewers for Engineering Research Express, reflecting contributions to high-quality peer review in Earth observation, AI-enabled engineering, and space science.

He is currently a lecturer in the Land Surveying Department within the School of Built Environment. Before joining academia, he worked in construction and utility sectors as a geomatics and measurements engineer, contributing to the design of water distribution systems, highways, and overhead transmission power lines.
