Assoc. Prof. Moses V. M. Chamba

Dr Moses V.M. Chamba is an Associate Professor of Food Technology in the Department of Physics and Biochemical Sciences at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS). He also worked as an Acting Director of Quality Assurance at the same institution. He received his PhD in Food Nutrition & Safety in 2014 from Jiangnan University, Wuxi, Jiangsu, People’s Republic of China; a Master of Public Health (MPH) in 2009 and a Bachelor of Education in 2001 from The University of Malawi. He is a seasoned and dedicated educator who has spent the whole of his career in teaching.

He joined MUBAS (then Polytechnic) in January 2016 at Senior Lecturer level after serving as a teacher in various public secondary schools from 2001 to 2004 and trained secondary school teachers at Domasi College of Education at Lecturer then Senior Lecturer positions from 2004 to 2015. Dr. Moses Chamba is a member of various national technical working groups on nutrition research and food standards in Malawi. He has published widely in the field of Food Science and Technology. His research passion is in exploring components of various plant materials that would help in the development of novel foods, in an attempt to address the many nutritional related sicknesses, improve health statuses of the general population, and feed concerned food and pharmaceutical industries with hidden knowledge that would improve their products.
