BSc Electrical Engineering, MSc Electrical Power Systems
I Joined The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences in October 2015 as a Staff Associate in Electrical Power and Machines under the Department of Electrical Engineering. Since then I have lectured in Electronics, Power electronics, Engineering practice, Workshop Practice and Electrical Machines. I have also coordinated the Final Year (Capstone) Projects for our department at the Diploma and Degree level. I have also Coordinated the Certificate in Electrical Installation Program.
Since 2016, I have been involved with the Lemelson project by assisting with internship supervision during the Summer student exchange internships between Rice University and our institution. I also help in organizing the Malawi Innovators Design Competition which is an annual event sponsored by Rice 360.
I am a holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering which I obtained from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) in 2015, and a Master’s of Science in Electrical Power Systems obtained from the University of Rwanda in 2021.
When it comes to research, I am interested in sustainable energy solutions for low resource areas such as Malawi, and in improving the energy efficiency and power utilization. I believe that the shortage of electricity hampers the progress of development for low resource country and I am certain that sustainable energy solutions are the key to unlocking developments that will improve people’s lives.
In my free time, I love to play or watch some soccer. I also love to do take on electronics projects where i design and assemble some devices. I also do some farming, and currently I am trying to set up an irrigation system on our family farm.
