Dr. Rex Mbewe

Rex Mbewe is a Lecturer at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences formerly University of Malawi, the Polytechnic. He received his bachelor’s degree in Education Science Majoring in Biology (Chemistry Minor) and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from University of Malawi, Chancellor college. He is married and has two beautiful Children. He has worked in the education sector at various levels from secondary school (2005-2008), colleges (2008-2010) and university (2011 to date). He has vast experience in community research and has worked with Malaria Alert Centre (MAC) as a research scientist (Entomology). He worked on various projects dealing with Malaria vector control and monitoring at laboratory and community levels. He headed the Department of Physics and Biochemical Sciences at Polytechnic University of Malawi from 2015 to 2017. He is a FRAME fellow (2017), Bailey Scholars Fellow (2018), Bug guide Fellow (2019) from Michigan State University, LEAD Fellow for life (2015), from University of Malawi and saved as Chair of ISO TC 285 at Malawi Bureau of Standards (2014). He currently teaches Environmental Impact assessment, Biology, Entomology and his research interests spans Environmental and Entomological issues.
He is a qualified educationist, environmentalist, and Entomologist. He also spends time as a professional photographer and certified drone pilot.
