Biography & Background
Flemmings Fishani Ngwira is a Senior Lecturer at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) and the current Head of the Academic Department; Language and Communication. He holds a PhD in Applied Psychology (Health Communication) and besides teaching and doing consultancies, he supervises and assesses undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations in communication and social science-related fields. In addition, he has a great passion for research in communication. Specific areas in which he has authored and co-authored book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers, include Health and Behaviour Change Communication, Public Health Communication, Political Communication and Forensic Linguistics. Flemmings is currently conducting research on the application of AI in education and health communication. Further, he is an active reviewer in two reputable journals and is an editor of the institutional-based journal, Malawi Journal of Applied Sciences and Innovations (MJASI). Flemmings is also an external examiner for the MPH in Social and Behaviour Change Communication at The University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
