Biography & Background

Taonga Mhango is a chartered manager, supply chain academic and practitioner with over 15 years of experience spanning strategic management, leadership, governance, supply chain management, and operations in academia, health and social care, banking and humanitarian sectors in Malawi and the United Kingdom. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom, and brings extensive academic and professional experience across both countries.

Outside MUBAS, he has held professional and leadership roles in banking, humanitarian logistics, procurement, governance and community development, including with Standard Bank Malawi, Save the Children Malawi, Habitat for Humanity Malawi, Touch a Life Initiative, Headzpace Therapeutic Care, and Chilobwe United Football Club. He has also served as an academic at Nottingham Trent University, contributing to teaching in Global Supply Chain Strategy.

He brings to MUBAS a combination of international academic exposure, extensive industry experience and practical leadership expertise. His experience across management, procurement, logistics, governance, risk management, organisational leadership and community development enables him to contribute to research-informed teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship, industry engagement and research, while strengthening the university's engagement with contemporary management and supply-chain challenges in Malawi and beyond.

He is a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) UK, British Academy of Management (BAM), European Academy of Management (EURAM), and Malawi Institute of Procurement & Supply (MIPS).
