Biography & Background
Samson Mazonde Banda is a dedicated Land Surveying professional with a strong commitment to utilizing geospatial technologies to tackle climate change and environmental management challenges. He is a holder of Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying from Mzuzu University. Samson’s career encompasses extensive experience across various sectors. He has served as an Engineering Surveyor at Pamodzi Consulting Limited, where he contributed to infrastructure projects such as the Area 44-Kauma Bridge, the Mzimba and Kenyatta streets development. Additionally, as Land Surveyor and Head of the Surveys Department at Hills and Associates Limited, he managed and led surveying teams on large-scale land and infrastructure projects, refining his expertise in advanced surveying and geospatial analysis. Currently, Samson is a Staff Associate in the Department of Land Surveying and Physical Planning at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), where he leverages his industry experience to educate the next generation of geospatial professionals. He is also an active researcher, employing cutting-edge tools like drones to monitor environmental changes and enhance research outcomes.
