Stephen Akude Chimtengo is a Lecturer in Accounting, Finance and Supply Chain Management at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) formerly University of Malawi,The Polytechnic. Stephen Chimtengo has been lecturing since 2007. Stephen served as Head of Accountancy in the Faculty of Commerce from 2009 to 2014 and then as Dean of Commerce from 2014 to 2018. Stephen Chimtengo previously worked as an Office Manager for Land O’Lakes Inc Malawi responsible for operations in the Northern Region (2004 to 2007), Operations/Billing Accountant for Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) (2000 to 2004) and Assistant Accountant at Malawi Net Limited (1999 to 2000).

Stephen Chimtengo holds a MSc from University of Bolton which he obtained in 2009. He also has a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of Malawi obtained in 1999. He is currently reading for his PhD in Project Planning and Management (Project Financing) at the University of Nairobi in Kenya. Professionally, he is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) and a full member of the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS).
