Murendehle Juwayeyi has a PhD in mass communication. He is a media scholar, writer, and editor, currently employed in the Language and Communication Department at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), where he teaches various modules. Before being employed at MUBAS, he was employed (as a requirement of his PhD scholarship) as a graduate research and teaching assistant, and then as an instructor in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia, where he taught various modules, including Writing for the Electronic Media, Media Research and Theory, Media Programming and Management, Introduction to Telecommunications, and Digital Media Production.
He also worked in the Sales and Marketing Department at the University of Georgia Press, where he carried out various duties. Before going to study for his PhD, he was an English Language Skills SAT Tutor at Huntington Learning Center in Scarsdale, New York.
Besides his academic research, he has a long history of writing and publishing in the press. He published his first newspaper pieces when he was in secondary school. Many of his opinion articles have been published in the national press here in Malawi, including in
The Nation and
The Daily Times newspapers, two national dailies. He has also published in
Malawi News and
