Dr Kizito Elijah Kanyoma is the current Executive Dean of the School of Education, Communication and Media Studies (SECOMS) at the MAlawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS). Prior to his appointment, Dr Kanyoma served as Dean of the School of Business and Economic Sciences at (MUBAS), between November 2020 and January 2023. He has also previously served as head of the Department of Business Administration between November 2019 and November 2020, and in 2013.

Between February 2017 and August 2019, Dr Kanyoma worked as a lecturer and web-learn facilitator on a number of undergraduate academic programmes at the University of Newcastle’s School of Human and Social Futures, formerly known as Newcastle Business School, Australia. He also taught on Newcastle Business School’s online MBA programme. Having worked with a world class university – the University of Newcastle, which is ranked 192nd in the 2022 QS World University rankings (i.e., among the top 1 percent of universities in the world), Dr Kanyoma brings to the School valuable expertise and the much-needed global perspective as the University repositions itself and an engaged, entrepreneurial, innovative and research-intensive institution of higher learning.
A business administration graduate from the University of Malawi—The Polytechnic (2005), he went on to earn a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management from the University of Bolton, United Kingdom in 2012. He later secured two fully funded PhD scholarships courtesy of the Turkish Government, and the Commonwealth of Australia, the latter, under the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship fund. In 2018, he successfully completed his doctorate in Management at the University of Newcastle, Australia, majoring in Supply Chain Management and inter-firm collaboration. Professionally, Dr Kanyoma is a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transportation (CILT) and locally, the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS). As a scholar, Dr Kanyoma has published his research in top ranked journals in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, including in the revered International Journal of Logistics Management.

Before joining the Polytechnic in 2008, Dr Kanyoma worked as a management trainee and later, assistant property manager - commercial, with Knight Frank Malawi Limited. Dr Kanyoma is married with two daughters and adores poetry. He is a committed Catholic.
