Borgestein is a dedicated engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He started from a technician level with a certificate, he has progressively advanced and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy.

Within the professional scope his research interests encompasses a broad spectrum, including Micro and Nano-electronics, Bioinstrumentation, Wireless Power Transmission,  RF, Microwave and Millimeter Wave Engineering, Sustainable Energy Solutions, and Energy Regeneration Techniques. His enthusiasm lies in utilizing technology to address sustainable challenges and drive innovation across these domains.
